Description. The Second Gary Indiana City Hall, designed by Philip Brooks Maher is a principal component of the Gary Gateway and Railway Center. Constructed in 1927 in the Neo-classical style, it remains the iconic image of Gary, Indiana as City of the Century. GHJA prepared thesuccessful National Register application for the City Center Historic District and the nomination to place the structure under the protected status of the Gary Landmark's Ordinance.
